We hold no copy of your data. Our apps store their records only on your device. That is the whole point of how they are built — but it has one consequence worth stating plainly.
If you lose your phone, uninstall the app, or clear its data, we cannot restore anything for you, because we never had it. Use Settings → Export, backup & restore regularly and keep the backup file somewhere you control.
No, apart from one screen. Every feature — the round, the ledgers, the statements, the insights, the exports — works with the phone in aeroplane mode. The only screen that uses the network is Settings → Privacy policy, which loads this website’s hosted policy page. That is why the app declares the INTERNET permission.
No. There is no sign-up, no login and no password. Install the app and it works. We do not know who our users are.
On the old phone open Settings → Export, backup & restore and choose “Save and share” to send yourself the JSON backup. Install Doorlane on the new phone, put the backup file on it, and use the Restore section. The restore replaces everything in the new book with the contents of the backup.
No. A delivery freezes the rate it was recorded at. When you change a rate it applies from its own start date onward, so a mid-month rise bills the two halves of the month correctly and nothing already recorded is repriced.
Add an away window on their stop for the dates in question. Those days are recorded as skips rather than deliveries, so they bill nothing and the month-end statement shows a “days skipped” count alongside the days served.
Yes. Create as many rounds as you need in Catalog, each with its own weekday pattern — a daily morning round and a Wednesday-only can round, for example. Each stop belongs to one round and only appears on the days that round runs.
No. Doorlane never moves money and is not connected to any payment system. Recording a payment is a line in a book, entered after cash has already changed hands at the door.
No, by design. Doorlane sends no push notifications and does not ask for the notification permission. Everything that needs attention — today’s round, pauses starting and ending, statements due, overdue balances — sits on the Today screen when you open the app.
Doorlane is free. There are no advertisements, no in-app purchases and no subscription.
